A Little Peeps About Me

SK graduated with a Master's of Clinical Psychology from an integrated psychology programme under University Sains Malaysia and University Pendidikan Sultan Idris (USM-UPSI) in September 2022

As a clinical psychologist, he implements intervention and assessment skills for clients. Now he has been practicing as an associate clinical psychologist in different settings (a university, Private clinics, & NGOs) since October 2022. Before he became a clinical psychologist, he went through a year of industrial training as a clinical psychologist trainee at a hospital setting (HUSM) and a private setting (Valley Psychological Services) where he was given tasks to support clients (child & adult) regarding their mental health issues by assessing, diagnosing, and providing psychotherapy sessions.

He has experience in conducting neuro assessments for stroke, TBI, meningioma, and Parkinson's patients. Besides, he has been also exposed to providing assessment services for neurodevelopmental cases such as Intellectual Disability (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Specific Learning Disorders.

Apart from the assessment, he has experience in conducting psychotherapy sessions for adolescents and adults. The approaches that he most embraces would be Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy (DBT). He has also experience in conducting sessions in three languages (English, Malay, & Mandarin) to fit the different backgrounds of his clients.

His belief is people might fall into pit holes or get into the darkness somewhere in their lives, which can be extremely scary and lost. He aims to be the light to people who are in need by using his expertise and skills to help them regain their shine and grow. “The first step is the beginning of a change.” Just like planting a tree, time is needed to heal your wounds and continue growing, and the very first step for you to take is seeking help. Hence, let’s make this possible and he is willing to work through this life journey and grow with you.
